Foundations and Non-Profits
Americorps Americorps is a national service program that has many projects working with San Francisco students and schools.

Bay Area Coalition of Essential Schools (BayCES). BayCES is a regional network of secondary schools that are committed to increasing the learning and achievement of every student.

California Academy of Sciences. The Academy of Sciences is a natural history museum, aquarium, planetarium and research institution that teaches visitors about the natural world and provides hundreds of educational classes for students and teachers of the SFUSD. School groups from San Francisco are admitted free with advanced reservations.

Children's Council of San Francisco. "A place for Child Care Providers and Families."

The Chinatown Disaster Preparedness Project has published a bilingual Chinatown Disaster Response Handbook. and a San Francisco Bilingual Disaster Response Handbook.   Funded by the San Francisco Foundation, Koshland Chinatown Council.

CompuMentor The goal... "Furnishing every public school student and teacher with a home computer..." CompuMentor partners with the SFUSD on the Home Computer project.

Every Child Can Learn Foundation The Every Child Can Learn Foundation helps the District and school sites gather resources to support our educational mission. Visit their site to find grants you can use for class or school projects.

Exploratorium The Exploratorium trains SFUSD teachers to enrich our science and mathematics curriculum.

Linking San Francisco (LSF) is a community of schools and organizations working together to help our students learn and improve our city through service learning.

PTA The PTA is celebrating its 105th birthday this year. Become a
member or volunteer. Your participation is welcomed.

The San Francisco Bay Girl Scout Council works with thirty SFUSD schools to provide self-esteem, academic support and leadership skills to girls throughout the Bay Area.

San Francisco Early Childhood Information System Project The San Francisco Early Childhood Information System Project is a collaborative of local agencies including the SFUSD Child Development Centers to provide access to information on young children.

San Francisco Education Fund (Ed Fund) Since 1979, the Ed Fund has been dedicated to improving the quality of public education in San Francisco. The Ed Fund has channeled over $11,000,000 into San Francisco public schools with the support of contributions from corporations, foundations, and individuals.

San Francisco Educational Services . The SFES mission: to expand the academic, personal and vocational opportunities available to children and youth at risk of educational failure.

San Francisco Recycling Program The SF Recycling Program provides educational materials for teachers and students, conducts educational programs and offers technical assistance to schools interested in setting up recycling and waste prevention programs.

San Francisco School Volunteers San Francisco School Volunteers links schools, businesses, and the community for bettering the quality of education. Are you ready to help?

Youth for Service provides assistance to youth and young adults so that they are able to enter today's competitive world and keep themselves trained for future employment opportunities.

Zeum Art & Technology Center where kids and families can have fun with interactive activities like animation and digital film production. Zeum offers field trips, workshops, theater events, a teen internship program, and a summer camp.

Colleges and Universities
The University of California at Berkeley has developed innovative programs such as the Berkeley Pledge, the Interactive University Project, the Academic Talent Development Program, and the Josephine Miles Fellowship Program to help our youth get ready for the University, and to help our teachers prepare them.
    The Interactive University Project is (was?)offering grants for teachers interested in Internet Learning-Community Projects.

 

Government Organizations
City and County of San Francisco The City and County of San Francisco works with SFUSD to increase access to computer technology for residents of city housing projects.

San Francisco Public Library The SF Public Library provides our schools with access to its resources.

 

Corporate Partners
The Pacific Bell Knowledge Network offers workshops for schools and libraries. Pacific Bell has four Education Advocates, all recent teachers, distributed across California who are available to assist schools and administration with training and staff development.
