Here is a photo of the entire Hillcrest Elementary School 2001 2002 Chess Club as it is getting ready to catch MUNI's 44 Bus.

Below are a couple of pictures that show some of the crowd that is usually there each year.

We played over 290 games of chess in less than two hours time.

We wrote letters to some of the students at other schools, hoping to see them again, next year

Visiting San Francisco City Hall

Here is a photo of my class as we visit City Hall in San Francisco, the home of our local government.

We were not allowed to take photos inside the mayor's office but we went inside.

The mayor's office staff was very friendly and answered some of our questions.

Here is a photo of my class as we visit a nearby park which is undergoing renovation.

We learned about the quiet and gentle art of writing Haiku, a form of Japanese poetry.

Here you see some of the students in B6 writing outside.

Haiku is a form of poetry that uses natural settings and occurances to provide inspiration.
