Body Wise for Health Assembly

..... A unique presentation by actors and giant puppets taught us about the different aspects of health. We learned that eating the right food is important, but so is being responsible, learning about ourselves and others so we can treat them well, and making good decisions in many areas of life.

Young Audience: Story Telling

  

..... The beauty of story and song was brought to us by the Young Audiences program. Here we see a well a story teller weave music and words to create a whole world for our students using only their imagination to take them on a magical journey to far away places, times and peoples.

..... Only one of the many acts that we had a chance to see. These students had the whole school clapping along. There were many talented students and the judges had a hard time selecting those who were honored with awards.

The Annual "Big Game" Hillcrest Teachers Versus the entire Fifth Grade!

This is an annual Hillcrest Event. Each year at the very end the teachers and staff play a kickball game against the entire fifth grade class. In years past the game was won, usually quite handily by the teachers and staff of Hillcrest School, however this past year the story was different. This game was a real challenge for both teams. At different times in the game the students had the lead or the teachers did. At one point the students opened a lead of more than 10 points. Then the teachers closed that leat to two points, but that is when time ran out and the game was over. It was a good game and everyone had fun. These are but a few of the pictures taken during the game.
