A compliance complaint was filed by parents of a San Francisco Unified School District special education student. The District was found out of compliance with IDEA 97. In order to correct the noncompliance, the California Department of Education has ordered the District to notify all special education staff and site level administrators of:

Title 5 California Code of Regulation (5CCR) Section 3040(a) and California Education Code (EC) 56345(c) requirements that IEP services must be provided as the IEP requires and that the site level administrator must have documentation that all IEP services were provided.

20 United State Code (USC) 1414(d)(4) requires that an IEP team review meeting will be held at least annually.

California Education Code (EC) 56341.5(i) requires that parents shall be provided with a copy of the IEP.
