A compliance complaint was filed by parents of a San Francisco Unified School District special education student. The District was found out of compliance with IDEA 97. In order to correct the noncompliance, the California Department of Education has ordered the District to notify staff of the following Education Code 56345(a)(6) and 5 California Code of Regulations 3042(a).

EC § 56345(a)(6) (Added Citation): The individualized education program is a written statement determined in an individualized education program team meeting and shall include, but not be limited to....the anticipated frequency, location, and duration of those services and modifications included in the individualized program....

5 CCR § 3042(a) (Added Citation): Specific educational placement means that unique combination of facilities, personnel, *location or equipment necessary to provide instructional services to an individual with exceptional needs, as specified in the individualized education program, in any one or a combination of public, private, home and hospital, or residential settings....

*Specific location of services must be specified in the IEP.
