Bilingual Community Council (BCC)

Mission Statement

The Bilingual Community Council (BCC) is composed of up to 14 members of the community who are appointed by the Board of Education (each Board Member makes two appointments). The duties of the BCC are to

  • serve as advocates for English Learners (ELs) in the District
  • monitor the activities of school programs that serve ELs
  • act as a liaison between the District and the school community
  • report regularly to the Board of Education on the status of programs for ELs
  • maintain regular communication with the Superintendent

The BCC holds monthly meetings and submits all minutes and recommendations to the Board and to the Superintendent.
