Scattered pieces of magnetic poetry words

SFUSD poet athletes

05/14/18

Every year for National Poetry Month public radio station KALW and America SCORES Bay Area team up to share the voices of young poets from San Francisco’s public schools.

This year “Happyness” by Pamela Alvarez Sosa depicts what true happiness is in the eyes of a child:

Happyness is when you're so excited you jump up and down.
Happyness is when you have a hard day at school and you come home and see your family.

The poem “Peace and Positivity” by Marco Gongora encourages people to open their eyes to what is happening in the world and speak up.

Peace should spread around the world
like jam on toast...
No racism
no sexism
no hate.

In case you missed it, you can hear the poems of our SFUSD poets on KALW.
