Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

Our TK program is designed to bridge the preschool learning environment with that of the traditional kindergarten classroom. It is taught by multiple subject credentialed teachers who blend preschool and kindergarten instructional practices in order to meet the individual needs of each child. The instructional day is from 8:30am-2:30pm. Out-of-school time care is available 2:30pm - 5:30pm.

At John McLaren Early Education School we have a balance of indoor and outdoor learning experiences that support children in their cognitive, social & emotional, and physical development skills.
We set up the classroom in learning centers to accommodate children of all learning styles.
We have a Resource Room where children can receive individualized attention or just have a quite time.
We provide opportunities for hands-on-activities, indoors and outdoors.
We have an outdoor garden area where children learn and connect with nature.
Our children have opportunities to enjoy physical play in our beautiful outdoor space.
On rainy days and when needed, children do physical play in our movement room.

After School Programs
Our after school program features Before and After School care and serves children, K through 5th grade who attend any of the following – El Dorado, Lawton, Rooftop, Cleveland, Sheridan, E. R. Taylor, and Visitacion Valley Elementary Schools. We help the children who attend our after school programs with their homework and also in math, literacy, and art. The program has enrichment activities including, field trips during Spring and Summer breaks, tutoring, and dance activities.
