School-Site Health Promotion for Staff
STAFF HEALTH PROMOTION

Health promotion programs for staff focus on overall wellness by providing programs related to good nutrition, stress management, weight control, fitness and aerobic exercise, tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use, first aid, CPR, and safety awareness. Staff health promotion programs can include awareness programs, health assessments, individual and family counseling, and employee assistance programs.

Staff health promotion programs include:

  • District-wide health promotion activities including health screenings, workshops, fitness activities are provided.
  • Attendance at Summer Wellness Conference by teams of teachers and staff from school sites is supported.
  • Smoking cessation programs for staff are provided by the American Lung Association, upon request.
  • Awareness training related to universal precautions is provided to school site staff on an annual basis.
  • First Aid and CPR training is provided to selected district-level and school-site staff, upon request.
  • The San Francisco Employee Assistance Program provides ongoing programs to staff, including but not limited to: alcohol and drug education, stress management, codependency, recovery, and managing change.
  • Sunshine Team provides staff wellness activities, staff recognition and sponsor's events within SHPD.
