The School Health Programs Department of the San Francisco Unified School District is the division of the public school system responsible for providing programs and services addressing the health-related needs of San Francisco youth and their families. The multidisciplinary staff of over 80 professionals and support staff includes: Health educators, school nurses, nurse practitioners, psychologists, peer resource coordinators, health workers, and support staff.

The Vision of the School Health Programs Department is:

To ensure the academic, physical and emotional growth of San Francisco's Children and youth.

The Mission of the School Health Programs Department is:

To assist school sites in building their capacity to develop, implement and coordinate programs and services to meet the needs of the whole child.

  4. Integrated School and Community Health Promotion Efforts
