ESL department meetingMinutes 11/6/2002
Present: Fang, F; Carlson, Y; Silberberg, M; Mok, S; Leung, C; Pino, D; Zilch, E 1. Budget: The fall budget has not been released. We are still using spring planning budget. 2. Supplies: According to the multilingual office, some are supposed to be provided by the school's general fund. Items like crayons, markers, construction paper, staplers, staples, Band-Aids, scotch tapes, pencils, chalk and chalkboard eraser will not be allowed to purchase using the ESL money. I will give you the most updated list on things that we cannot buy. Please request those items through the main office. 3. Paraprofessional schedule: Paraprofessionals will be going to classrooms and will be doing tutoring now. Olga will be working in the computer lab, but she will be assigned to a teacher when she has no class in the lab. Please try to give her a lesson plan with instructions on things that you need her to help if you need to bring your students to the lab. We need to collect the lab sign-in, tutoring log and lesson plans for WASC and CCR purpose. 4. WASC: Please read the recommendation/action plan that you got at the faculty meeting to see which one(s) that we have to address and which ones that we have addressed already. We need to collect evidence. Also, if you have good student essays, please put them in a floppy disk and put in my mailbox. English language development teachers who are teaching the same course please meet to select samples of student work on Thursday afternoon's common planning time. 5. Please tell your students to clean up their folders on the school network. We need space for the LALAR portfolio. |
