The ELAC consists of parents of English language learners,
administrators, teachers and paraprofessional. It is an advisory body to
oversee the EIA/LEP program and its budget. The committee meets every other
month. Parent education/training workshops are also arrenged through the ELAC.

Learner Advisory Committee
Community services agencies presentation and how to apply for colleges have been
two popular topics for the parent education workshop. During the school year
2000 to 2005, a Community-Based English Tutoring program is funded by the
district to provide English instruction to new immigrant parents through our
ELAC parent workshops. Light dinner, child care, and translation services are
provided at all meetings.
