5 period ESL Read 7 Chan, Carmen Oct 3, 2003 10th 3G School Police Officers I think there should be police officers in school because I think they could reduce any fighting or violence in school. People think it will make them feel nervous if there are police officers around the school. But in my opinion, I will feel safer if there were police officers around the school. Last Wednesday, I read San Francisco Examiner. One of the articles heading is School Fight Ends in Shooting. It happened on Sept 26,2000, it was about two boys who shot each other after they had an argument. The younger boy got a gun from someone then shot the older guy. Then the older guy grabbed the gun and shot him back. It happened in a middle school in New Orleans. From this article, I know how scary that would be if it happened to my school and I think that if school had police officers around, it may not have happened, and these two boy might not have injured. I think school is a place that is full of violence. Students fight for something that is not really important, so we need polices to stop that. At least, I think school will be more peaceful if there were police officers around. |
