The Information Superhighway in Chinese project was developed
by Fan Fang and his
students at Horace Mann Academic Middle School, San Francisco,
USA in 1994.The goal is to enable Chinese Bilingual students to
use Chinese language on the Internet.
In 1994, our students were the first in the United States who
could use Chinese to communicate with Internet users in China,
Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and UK. We have Chinese E-mail pen
pals around the world now.
In 1995, we launched the world's first Chinese online
newspaper edited by secondary students.
This project is made possibe by San Francisco Education Fund
and efforts and cooperation with Newcomer High School and
Thurgood Marshall High School, San Francisco.
