Bryant Elementary a AAA Partner
Launches New Traffic Safety Web Site

San Francisco--On November 7, Bryant Elementary School students will host a media event to klaunch and demonstrate the new Otto Club Web site (www.ottoclub.org) - A Safe Place to Play. This is the latest effort in the four-year partnership between AAA and Bryant. Students contributed to the development of the Otto Club Web site by testing it twice during the school year. Their input shaped and fine-tuned the first Internet site to engage young children to learn traffic safety.

"AAA are terrific partners," said Principal Anastasia Zita. "They are there for us and really care about our families. AAA along with our staff and Americorps have worked hard to increase parent involvement at our school. I'm happy to report that 80 parents graduated from our Parent Institute for Quality Education. And this year, AAA is supporting Bryant''s after-school homework club.

Bryant is a front-runner in the use of technology for learning - not only in San Francisco - but nationally, even globally. Deftly managed by Technology Resource Teacher Virginia Davis, the Media Lab includes 135 classroom computers, Internet access from all rooms, and video conferencing. It is one of 12 cutting-edge model school sites participating in Pacific Bell's Education First Program.

Bryant Elementary conducts many demonstrations and attracts inquiring guests from all corners of the world - including President Clinton and Vice President Gore, the Korean prime minister, and ambassadors and dignitaries from Argentina, France, and Scandinavia - and now, even AAA's "Otto the Auto" can visit Bryant students virually anytime.
