Principal's Message

From the desk of Principal Larry Alegre:

Welcome to Bryant School. Our school is located in the heart of San Francisco's Mission area. We have 200 wonderful Kindergarten through fifth grade students who are primarily of Latino, Asian and African American backgrounds. Literacy is our main goal here and we strive to infuse the use of technology into the process of learning whenever possible. English Language Development and Spanish Bilingual instruction are the tools we use to reach this goal. We are dedicated to this task and are life long learners in this voyage called education.

Eleven classroom teachers, a part time Resource Specialist, a Curriculum Technology Integration Specialist, a Spanish/English Reading Recovery Team and a part-time counselor make up part of our team at Bryant. Together we provide educational experiences for our community that go far beyond the classroom. Bryant is home to a Children's Center for Pre K and After School education funded by 21st Century and Extended Learning Grants. We are also the proud recipients of California's Healthy Start Grant.

In the following pages you will read our School's Mission, Vision and Technology Vision. Angeles Arrian at the 1991 Organizational Development Network best describes the commitment here to our children and to the development and improvement of our school culture:

People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.

Fueled by our diverse experiences in this changing world, Bryant Staff has the dynamic ability to bring personal knowledge and research together to meet the needs of our children today, and prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow.
