We had a great carnival!!!
The weather was perfect. The food was wonderful...gourmet chocolate, cotton candy, a cake walk, burgers and hotdogs, cold soda! The kids all had fun. See you next year!
May 18th (Tuesday) Authors Coming to Cabrillo!
Author! Author! In conjunction with Cabrillo's "Literacy Celebration," Tues., May 18, we will welcome two authors to school-day assemblies and an evening family event . Students will also share some of their recent writings in the morning: from 8:30 to 9:20 for K-2; 9:40 to 10:30 for Gr. 3-5. The visiting authors will be Alma Flor Ada, a Cuban-born author of children's stories and of poems, and Isabel Campoy, co-author of 47 children's books, including Spanish-bilingual nursery rhymes and love poems for children. They are coming to our school via the SFUSD Language Academy, as a result of faculty participation in a writing seminar. More information on the "Literacy Celebration" will be sent home soon.

Kindergarten Orientation for parents or guardians of children entering kindergarten at Cabrillo in August, 1999 will take place on Wed., June 2, 7 to 7:45 p.m. in the school library. If you know of other families who may be interested, please spread the word.
June 4th (Friday) Last Day of School/5th Grade Commencement
June 16th to July 9th Summer Piano Classes!
Summer piano classes will be held from June 16 to July 9 at Cabrillo School. Lessons will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 12:30 to 1:30 (following summer school dismissal). Call Keyboard Educators, 665-2290.
