Welcome to the H.M.C.R.A Technology
Page
Technology at Harvey Milk is woven into each classroom's
culture. Instruction is driven by the National
Educational Technology Standards, as well as SFUSD's Draft
Technology Curriculum Standards. Our guiding philosophy is expressed
eloquently by Seymour
Papert:
Technological fluency will be valued far less as something
needed for the workplace than as a language in which powerful ideas
can be expressed.

Grants
We're always seeking alternative sources
of funding to implement creative technology curriculum.
The following grants were written in early 1998, and awarded over
the summer.
- Special thanks to the AOL
Foundation for their recent grant of $7300 to fund our Internet
Publishing Program. The grant will purchase 2 new computers, a
digital camera, a color printer, and software to help our school
create a student presence on the internet.
- Special thanks to Sheila Schroeder and Erin Creane from ING
Baring Furman Selz for their donation of a 20'x7' modular
broker's desk, and 8 comfortable chairs. Classrooms are using
these desks to accommodate all the donated computers we've been
getting!
Technology Wish List
Our teachers have a Technology Wish List.
If you would like to donate or purchase items, please contact
Brendan Creane.
- Volunteers to help with web authoring and computer maintenance.
