The
HMCRA Mystic Windmill, installed in the Yerba Buena Center at Zeum, is
a free-standing, kinetic art installation that spans ten feet in diameter.
On two concentric circles
of mylar vanes,
students
created 16 pages of artwork. The windmill will be on display at the <Youth
Arts Festival> from Saturday, May 8, 2004 for two weeks. <View
the Quicktime Movie of the Installation.>

The second and third grade students of HMCRA participated in workshops to create the windmill vanes. Pairs of students were given an 18" x 24" sheet of mylar upon which to create two translucent pages. The pages serve as the vanes of the windmill, attached along the crease to copper pipes fanning out from a central wheel. Contact: Tiffany Graham |
