Mr. Kirk is a great teacher! He is a 6th grade teacher. He is funny at times, but he can also be serious.
A regular day in Mr. Kirk's language arts class starts off with DOL (Daily Oral Language). This warm-up consists of correcting grammar mistakes. For him to pick on you for DOL, he will have a card in which you write your name, he will shuffle it and pick a card. If your name is on it, you will have to answer the question. Afterward, we would read the Literature Book and the best table would get to sit on the couch. We would then do Popcorn Reading which means that the person reading can continue reading until he/she says "Popcorn" and then will choose somebody else. After that he would usually tell us to do some questions in the book for homework. For homework, he would give us a worksheet or some work in the book.
Also in social studies class, we would do a worksheet or read the book Also for homework, we would get a worksheet or do something in the workbook.
For reading class, we would start off with correcting grammar as a warm-up. After we would read the high point book and then answer some questions in the high point workbook. If we were all done, he would give us homework. We could do it in class, but if we didn't, it would be homework.
On Fridays, we would combine with Mr. Chesley's class and watch Degrassi Junior High. The movies teach you about life and what might come out of it and will also teach you a lesson.
So that's how a day with Mr. Kirk might be.
