Testing is going to begin soon. Time passes by so quickly! In a blink of an eye, testing is here again!
Testing is during the last week of April and the first week of May (except Mondays and Fridays). On the night before testing, try to go to sleep by 9 p.m.-10 p.m. and eat a healthy breakfast on the day of testing. During testing, make sure you answer all of the questions. If you donít have enough time, donít just make wild guesses. Take a deep breath, try to read quickly, answer the question, and good luck! Remember: never leave a question blank. If you guess, you still have a chance of getting something right. If you leave something blank, the chance of you getting that problem correct is 0%. Also, always check your work if you have enough time.
Every day of testing, you go to your first period class and take the test. Testing is from 9:05 a.m.-11:30 a.m., depending on the type of subject. During testing, you must be quiet and not look at othersí test. Even if you do, you will get the wrong answer(s) because everyoneís tests are different. They might have the same questions, but the questions will be in a different order.
If youíre in sixth grade, you will be tested on language arts/English and math. If youíre in seventh grade, you will also be tested on language arts/English and math, but you will also have to take the CAT6 test, which includes reading, language arts, spelling, and math. In eighth grade, you will be tested on language arts/English, math, history, social studies, and science.
To prepare yourself for testing, listen to your teachers and their advice, ask questions during class time, and pertain to problems.
If you are caught cheating or doing something not allowed, you test will be discarded and a phone call will be made down in the principalís office!!
If you happen to get a ìbelow basicî for you result from testing, you will not flunk or repeat the class, but you do need to improve.
There is a question many people will ask. It is ìwhy do we have testing?î Testing shows how well students can perform in the basic school subjects and will show which class they will be placed in the following school year.
I wish everyone good luck in testing and that everyone knows their materials.
