César Chávez School's Computer Technology

Computer TechnologyBeing a Technology Magnet School, we have one of the most advanced and complete multimedia technology programs in San Francisco. Thirty two PCs in our Computer Lab are networked with each of the four computers in the classroom, as well as in the library. Classrooms share TV/VCRs, overhead projectors, digital cameras, video cameras, laser disc players, and have video cable connections. The entire staff has access to on site computer technology inservices, with support from the Educational Technology and Curriculum Improvement and Professional Development departments. A Technology Resource Teacher, a Lab Manager and an on site CNE Technician assist our school community in the use of technology during the school day, in the after school program and parents' evening class. The school's Technology Committee provides leadership in implementing our Technology Use Plan which is aligned with SFUSD's Technology Curriculum Standards.

Research: Internet, LaserDisc and Multimedia CD programs
Word Processing: English, Chinese and Spanish writing applications
Desktop Publishing: Video and Digital technology, Color scanners
Multimedia: Authoring tools, such as Hyperstudio, as well as content based software
Math Applications: Spreadsheets and graphs
