Ryan asked the principal, "Can the kids help me make sandbags if they stay right here?  We won't bother anyone. And...will you be able to deliver the sandbags to people who need help?"
    "Sure," said the principal, Ms. Ellen.  "What a great idea!  We need everyone to help!"

    All of the students made sandbags.  Three students  shoveled the sand into the bags.  One person held a bag and when it was full, two more students came to lift the sandbags into the truck.  Finally,  when  the students were  done, the principal  delivered the sandbags to the people who needed  them.  The people stacked the sandbags in front of their  windows and doors.
    Back at Ice Cream School the students sat at their desks and waited and watched.  The water got deeper and deeper. The water was rising every minute.  They had to think of a way to make the water lower, but  how?  Then Ryan had an  idea!
    "We could  build a stream for the water to empty out into the ocean" cried  Ryan.  So...
