Shapes in Space

In the "Shapes in Space" assignment, students were asked to put together all their knowledge about shading the various geometrical shapes into an imaginative, freeform assignment. The students started off by drawing three thumbnails and selecting the design they liked best to enlarge. They were required to have each geometrical shape, at least 13 in total. When they were done selecting a thumbnail, they enlarged it on a piece of newsprint and covered the back of the newsprint with graphite. They then traced their now-enlarged outline on a sheet of white paper. When that was done, they started shading, resulting in the final product. When they were finished, they gave their drawing a title that had to be three words or less.
