SSC: The
Lowell
School Site Council |
The 28-member Lowell School Site Council is comprised of staff, students and parents elected by their peers. The SSC is the primary policy-making body at
Lowell. One of its important tasks is the development of an academic plan each year. The plan is intended to provide a focus for the coming academic year. The SSC uses data from standardized tests, input from community meetings and the opinions of its members to determine which academic areas need attention. In addition to developing the academic plan, the SSC is also charged with allocating
Lowell's nearly $11.5 million budget. (Click to view the Academic Plan documents)
Everyone is welcome at the School Site Council meetings which are typically held twice a month on Mondays at 3:35pm in the Meyer Library. Watch the Weekly Bulletin for specific dates. The SSC welcomes feedback and suggestions on the Academic Plan.

Student Government at
Lowell |
Student Government at
Lowell
High School is an integral part of the
Lowell environment. Student Government is the voice of the students to the school administration, school district, PTSA, and Alumni Association. At
Lowell, Student Government has different sections that are responsible for accomplishing specific goals at school. Each class has six officers that facilitate all the activities for their respective class. The student body has twelve representatives (ten elected, 2 appointed) that sit on the Student Body Council (SBC) These officers are responsible for the well being of the entire school and deal more directly with the administration than the officers on the class boards. The Student Government officers are all part of the Lowell Student Association (LSA). |

SBC: The Student Body Council |
The twelve members of the Student Body Council (SBC) are responsible for the overall well-being of the student body and planning of school wide events. SBC plans rallies, dances, formals, and activities for the entire school to enjoy. In addition, SBC voices the concerns of the students to the administration to improve the quality of life at
Lowell. SBC works very hard to improve the school environment and make it a place where students are proud to attend. Their independently maintained website is here. |
