Getting Online with Lowell Online

Step 2: Brainstorm

Step 2
Start considering your own content. Don’t get overwhelmed - you can start small and expand over time, or just stick with what you’re comfortable with. The following suggestions are useful components of a teacher page:
  • Course Syllabi: A great start to a teacher webpage.
  • Handouts/Downloads for Students: A convenient method of distributing material that doesn’t eat up precious paper rations.
  • Homework/Long Term Assignments: Even with nifty Toyota planners it’s convenient to be able to check assignments from outside the classroom.
  • Student Work: Showcase the fruits of learning to parents and students.
  • Class Photos: Eye candy that’s just plain fun (and sometimes even educational).
  • Lecture Notes: Lets students review and get their facts straight.
  • Grades: For teachers who do their grades on computer on post them in the classroom, this lets parents and students monitor progress at home.
  • Contact the Teacher: Internet communication is a two-way tool.
  • Favorite Webpage Links: Sometimes others say it best. Many educational institutions are online with libraries of information a click away.
