Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Academic Middle School received the honor of hosting a visit by Dr. Philip Emeagwali on January 14, 2000. A native of Nigeria, Africa Dr. Emeagwali's life story is both amazing and admirable. He is "one of the pioneers that contributed to the development of the Internet", has the oldest personal website on the Internet and has won numerous awards as one of the world's leading computer scientist and inventor.
