PTSA VISION STATEMENT:
The vision of MLK PTSA is that:
The PTSA, with over 400 members sponsors a Walkathon, King Family Conference/Book Fair, Multicultural Fair and Multicultural Assemblies. Parents volunteer in the office , field trips; support dances, plays and graduation; and provide speakers for Career Day. Parents participate in the SSC (School Site Council), Site Advisory Council, and BAC. Three PTSA newsletters, report cards/interim reports, and a parent-organized phone tree provide communication. A homework line has been installed for all parents to access. A parent and communication center has been established with categorical funds in the library. Our community relations expert and parent liaison is Ms. Bobbie Cooper.
Ms. Cooper arranges communications among parents, students, and teachers. She also conducts home visits. She worked as a special education classroom teacher aide for 13 yrs. She has worked with SFUSD for 19 years.
Note: Ms. Cooper is renowned at our school site for her FANTASTIC southern/soul food cooking! For those interested, here are some web sites to tickle your tongue:
