The technology department at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Academic Middle School is a strong one.
We have 2 computer labs. Lab 205 provides guided instruction in:
Lab 208 is reserved for teachers to sign up classes for use in the enhancement of curriculum oriented projects. These projects include:
Lab 208 is also used to train teachers in the use of technology in the lab and in the classroom.
Ms. Hughes (Rm. 207) won the honor of having a mini-lab setup in her classroom. She has 5 imacs, a projection device, VCR, and digital camera at her disposal. MLK is moving to this model, so that teachers can begin projects, present material via the Internet and work in small groups with students to help them achieve.
Our
library also contains 25 networked Windows computer workstations.
Research and Internet access is available to all students/staff.
Our librarian maintains a website, which
keeps a daily log of events. Curriculum I-Searches are also maintained
on Kings
Digital Daily Agenda .
Our afterschool program, run by PASE also increases access to technology for students by using lab 205 and Rm. 119, which contains 10 networked Gateway computers.

Technology Student Organization- Conferences, competitions, career news,and general info. regarding the use of technology to educate students.
Literacy and Technology - A website createdby a CA educator to promote the integration of the Internet with curriculum. Great lesson plans, government links, and funding sources!
