Kindergarten Teachers Mrs. Sandy
ChinMar

The Kindergarten program at Sheridan School emphasizes social development, school readiness and cooperative learning. Our reading readiness program stresses phonics (Open Court) and uses a variety of multi-cultural literature (Scholastic Literacy Place). The daily schedule includes developmentally appropriate activities which accommodate all learning styles. Kindergarten students receive instruction in conflict resolution with the Working It Out Program. Other kindergarten activities include Mathland, dramatic play, hands-on science, music and social studies. Because students rotate in small groups, they are exposed to each teacher's area of expertise. The teachers' diverse interests include dance, drama, choreography, sports, arts and crafts and original music. |
