Election Commission SFUSD School Board Appointee

The San Francisco Board of Education has an appointment to the Elections Commission that is currently vacant. We are seeking candidates for appointment to the Commission.


The San Francisco Elections Commission oversees all public elections in San Francisco. It sets general policies for the Department of Elections and is responsible for the proper administration of its general practices. The San Francisco Board of Education appoints one member of the seven member commission. This seat is currently vacant.  

There are no qualification requirements specific to the School Board appointee to the Elections Commission. However, the Charter section states that there are some restrictions the appointee should be aware of regarding holding other offices, employment, and political activities. Please consult the applicable Charter provisions for more information. This is a five-year appointment which the Board of Education may renew for an additional five year term for a total of ten years.
