Highlights Aug. 27-31, 2018: Seniors go to college & students as tech coaches

High school seniors spend afternoons in college, student tech team recruits members

 

Highlights for August 27-31, 2018

For the second school year, nearly every high school senior at The Academy - San Francisco @ McAteer is taking classes at City College of San Francisco’s Mission Center or Ocean Avenue Campus each afternoon to earn college credit as part of SFUSD's Early College Program. Students select from 19 classes, including African American Studies, Film History and Child Development. SF International High School also has a similar partnership with CCSF.

Have questions about your tablet or computer? The Hawk Squad at Hoover Middle School is here to help! These students are tech coaches to their peers and teachers throughout the school. They help to custom build computers; test new equipment in the Digital Arts Center; assist with online communications; write, produce, direct and edit videos for school-wide digital storytelling; and more. The Hawk Squad is an elective class, which students are encouraged to join.
