Statement re: June Jordan School for Equity
Today at around 3:15 p.m. at June Jordan School for Equity, an SFUSD high school, gunshots were fired outside the school around dismissal time. The San Francisco Police department is on scene, and SFUSD officials are working closely with the police. The school immediately went on lockout. At 4:03 p.m. the lockout was lifted and the scene has been declared safe by SFPD.
There were four perpetrators who were targeting a particular individual, who suffered injuries and is being cared for. Three other bystanders also suffered injuries.
This was an isolated incident outside of the school building where one student was being targeted by outsiders. Wellness staff is at the school to support students.
