Join us for the SFUSD College and Career Programs Department Career Technical Education (CTE) showcases at the following schools:

Wednesday, May 11 at Hilltop High School from 11am to 12pm:

All year long, students part of the Multi-Media Arts pathway have been working on launching their artisan businesses. Students have sketched, 3D-printed, and hand-crafted their jewelry designs and built a marketing campaign and website to attract customers. We need you to attend their annual open-air market to test their entrepreneurial skills.

At the event, you will play the role of a potential customer. You will be given $100 Hilltop dollars.

As you visit each student booth, they will share their jewelry line, marketing campaign, and website. Help provide students feedback on their designs and business materials. Then you must decide how to spend your $100 Hilltop dollars.

Please RSVP by emailing one of our team members here.

Wednesday, May 12 at Balboa High School from 6:30 pm to 8pm:

All six of their pathways will showcase student work and capstones. Below is a small preview of the student presentations.

  • Students from the Game Design Academy will share their own 3D video game prototypes. Presentations will include a demo and game trailers.
  • Students from Wilderness Arts and Literacy Collaborative will be sharing their findings from their year-long project working with the San Francisco Exploratorium and California Academy of Sciences. Students planned and executed events with an environmental focus. They will share their analyzed qualitative and quantitative data on whether or not their projects made a difference.
  • Students in the Law Academy will share their community service project presentations. Students identified an existing community issue, such as toxic waste in Hunter’s Point. Along with their lawyer and SF Civil Grand Jury capstone mentors, they researched the topic and identified relevant findings and recommendations.

Refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP by signing up here
