Stress Management...

Stress is felt in our body in response to a stressor (threat) in our environment and usually goes away when the stressor leaves.  Not all stress is bad…it can sometimes motivate us.  However, if the stressor doesn’t go away, stress can become chronic, and impact our physical and emotional health.  Worry is when our mind dwells on negative thoughts- typically about things from the past or things that haven’t happened yet.  Worry can be helpful if it helps us take action, but it can be unhelpful if it turns into obsessive thoughts.  We create anxiety when we feel stress (in our body) and worry (in our mind).  

Self-care tools & strategies can help to manage and reduce our stress, worry and anxiety.   

Some tips and tricks:

  • Take a walk and get some fresh air; be sure to look up at the sky!
  • Do some exercise
  • Get crafty
  • Read a good book
