Analysis to Action for the Reading Inventory Assessment. Reading Inventory (previously known as SRI) is a component of the SFUSD District Assessments for ELA. It is a computer-adaptive, research-based reading assessment that measures students’ level of reading comprehension and reports it using the Lexile Framework® for reading. Lexile reading level information supports the selection of appropriate independent reading material and instruction. Reading Inventory (RI) assessment results will be used as a formative assessment throughout the year to monitor progress in reading.
