What do we do?
Our motto, “Find Your Passion. Do What You Can. Participate - Donate – Advocate,” reflects our strong belief that because of you, our families and friends, DFES will continue to offer an exemplary, nurturing and academically enriching environment for all students.
The DFES PTA contributes greatly to our school's achievement. Staff, administration and parents work together to proactively support school-wide goals.
- The "Seeds of Success" fundraising efforts -which include an Annual Giving Campaign, Walkathon and Auction - support arts and science enrichment programs, middle school readiness, extra supply budgets for staff, author's day and school assemblies, a School Counselor, a garden program, technology upgrades, extra lunch-time supervision, and staff professional development.
- The PTA-sponsored community events help realize the vision of a Caring School Community and include New Family events, grade level potluck dinners, Lunar New Year and Russian Heritage celebrations, a Pancake Breakfast, Dad's Club camping trips/picnics, Garden Days and more! The PTA raises about $200,000 yearly.
There are so many ways to get involved at DFES. Year after year, we log thousands of volunteer hours, and these volunteers make our community what it is today. We can achieve even more with your help!
