Principal's Message

Dear Families,

I hope this message finds you all well!

It is hard to believe that we have little more than a week and a half of school. This school year has been challenging, difficult, engaging, and in many ways a lot of fun.  It was truly unusual and most definitely will be unforgettable. As I write this I think about all I have learned and how I have grown both personally and professionally. I think the one word that resonates with me this year has been flexibility. We have all had to be flexible and navigate under a lot of unknown factors. This is a life lesson for all of us and an especially good one for our children. There are many unknowns about what the future holds. I can say though, that we’ve tried our very best to support each and every child and family. The relationships we have built as a community is what makes us successful. Almost all students have gained at least one year academically. We are so proud of their progress and we know that YOU at home have contributed greatly to your child’s success. We appreciate your partnership!

The last day of school for 2020-2021 is Wednesday,June 2. I am encouraging you to register your child in our summer program. The program runs from June 14-July 23. I am excited the first 4 weeks will include an academic component from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. This part of the day will be run by our teaching staff. After 11:30 AM, our Excel program will take over. The final two weeks of the program will be run by ExCel. This is the first year we have offered an academic component by MEC teachers. Students will receive daily Reading and Language Arts in Spanish,English Language Development, Mathematics and Science. It’s going to be a lot of fun! Please contact Ms. Nayeli if you have questions.

We are not able to have a formal end of the year celebration with families but we will have a special activity here at school to celebrate all the hard work of students and teachers. More information will follow in next Wednesday’s bulletin.

Please continue to ensure your child is reading daily at least 20 minutes and they are getting exercise, eating healthily and getting enough sleep. That goes for us as adults too!

Have an amazing week!

Ms. Vasquez
