This workshop will provide an overview of language programs in SFUSD's elementary, middle, and high schools including our Dual Language Immersion and Biliteracy Programs that are designed to support the academic achievement and bilingualism of English language learners. We will also share an overview of our World Language programs that aim to promote bilingualism and global citizenship for all SFUSD students. There will be time for questions and answers about eligibility requirements and the goals of these programs.

San Francisco’s Kindergarten to College (K2C) program helps families save for college by opening a K2C college savings account at Citibank for every SFUSD student who started Kindergarten in Fall 2010 or after (K-10 for SY 2020-2021) with an initial $50 deposit.

Our workshop will cover Special Education Services offered at each level: Early Childhood Special Education Services (0-5 yrs), Elementary K-5, Middle School, High School, Access Programs, and Related Services. We will also describe the Continuum of Services available at each level.

Come learn about the many reasons why our high school students enroll in Career Pathways programs. See how students get to explore their interests and accelerate their preparedness in a career field by developing skills in critical thinking, public speaking, and project management. Students also have access to early college courses to boost their GPA when applying to colleges and preview their educational path after high school.

Come learn how to apply for schools online! In this session we will show you how to set up a ParentVUE account, select and order your school list, and submit. We will also share more about what happens to your application after you submit.

3:00 - 3:50 pm | Student Assignment Policy Community Information Session (ASL, Closed Captioning)

Come learn about the proposed Student Assignment Policy that the Board of Education will vote on in December. This is an opportunity to ask questions about the policy, understand its key features, and provide input on how we implement the policy in the coming years. Note that the policy changes will impact elementary schools only, and will affect incoming kindergarten students no sooner than SY 2022-23.
