How do I sign up for Ready4Learning texts?
Are you a parent or caregiver of an SFUSD child in TK-2nd grade? If so, SFUSD will sign you up for the Ready4Learning text messaging program for the 2020-2021 school year.
Who is Ready4Learning for?
Ready4Learning is for all families with children in TK through grade 2. The Ready4Learning messages are easy to read and the activities never require additional materials or screen time.
How often will I receive Ready4Learning texts?
Each week you will receive 3 texts with fun facts and tips on ways to help your children learn and grow.
How much does the program cost?
It’s free to enroll in Ready4Learning. As with any text message, data and message rates may apply.
Do I have to respond to the Ready4Learning text messages?
No, the text messages suggest hands-on activities that you can do with your child. All you do is read the text and have fun doing the activity with your child!
What research supports Ready4Learning?
Ready4Learning draws on over ten years of research with families across the country. In a study with SFUSD families, children whose parents took part in the program gained two to three months of literacy skills during a school year. Click here to read more about the research.
What do parents think about Ready4Learning?
They love it! In the 2019-2020 school year, 1,500 PreK through 2nd grade SFUSD families received these texts. They found it helpful for supporting their children. 94% of families do Ready4K activities at least once per week. Here’s their feedback:

Which subjects do the texts cover?
Ready4Learning messages on reading, math, science, social emotional learning, and approaches to parenting. Click here to see sample messages.
Which languages are the texts available in?
Ready4Learning is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Arabic.
Can I receive texts for more than one child?
Yes, each family can receive text messages for up to three children. SFUSD will automatically sign families up for all of their children in TK-2nd grade.
What if I’m already receiving these texts?
Did you sign up for Ready4K text messages earlier this year? You will continue to receive texts through Ready4Learning during the 2020-2021 school year.
What if I have a TK-2nd grade student in SFUSD, but I did not receive a text message enrolling me in the Ready4Learning program?

Who is my information shared with? Will I receive spam?
SFUSD will share your information securely with ParentPowered to administer the Ready4Learning program. It will not be used or shared for any other reasons. You will only receive messages directly related to the Ready4Learning program.
I no longer want to receive texts from Ready4Learning, what should I do?
You can opt out anytime by texting STOP to 70138.
