Introduction
Ahoy!
This April and every month we stand firm in our collective truth that the LGBTQ+ community are not separate from us, but are essential to the weft and woof of the fabric of our community. Thank you for your outstanding work navigating the sturm und drang of this past year which has seen squalls arise close to home and the growing threat of countless anti-LGBTQ laws nationally. We will not allow the prevailing gales of intolerance blow us off our charted course; our Truth North is equity and inclusion. We shall continue to be each other’s safe harbor.
Please feel free to share any additional fab activity ideas and resources by contacting LGBTQ Student Services.

Events:
- April 14th - Pink Wave
- Attached is a short deck explaining what it is with some activity suggestions.
- Schools may consider purchasing wristbands or ribbons to make sure everyone who wants to can participate.
- At ES we are focusing on Pink Wave.
- April 22nd - Pride Picnic
- Please DO NOT email this flier to your whole school or publically post on your school's website. We recommend sharing it with the students who participate in your school's Rainbow Club, LGBTQ+ PTA/PTO group and/or students you know are LGBTQ+ identified or have families that are. SSWs at sites that do not have Rainbow clubs may share this with LGBTQ+ students and families so that they are aware of this event. It is okay to post to your school’s bulletin board. We are not doing broad broadcasting of this event as we’re holding it at a public park; we want to make sure only joyful and supportive attendees attend.
