Meenoo Yashar

For over 25 years, Meenoo Yashar has gained indispensable experience in progressive educational management and leadership. Her career trajectory includes working as a preschool teacher, an AB 3632 mental health service assessor for students with IEPs, a social worker for a Tenderloin pre-kindergarten program at Compass Family, a site administrator at a school for students with special needs, and the director of professional development in Seattle Early Reading First & Early Learning Networks. Ms. Yashar received her Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Child Development from San Francisco State University and a Master of Arts in Social Justice/Clinical Psychology from New College of California with an MFT license.

As Head of Early Education, Ms. Yashar provides leadership and oversight to schools and programs providing pre-kindergarten, Transitional Kindergarten and Out-of-School Time (OST), with a focus on kindergarten readiness and PK-3 grade alignment both within the district as well as with city and community partners.
