Opportunities for Parental Involvement
Chinese Immersion School is a vibrant, active community that includes a strong PTA with a terrific spirit of parent participation and volunteerism. Parents are always welcomed to volunteer and participate in any capacity. Parents at CIS support and build upon the school's successes and are often assisting in the classroom, on the school site, chaperoning field trips and helping with projects at home. Parents also have the opportunity to participate in any of the following committees: After School Program, Art Committee, Chinese New Year Parade, Community Building Committee, Fundraising Committee, Grounds and Garden Committee, and Parent Education Committee. Parents participate in writing the school's goals and objectives on the Balanced Score Card and participate in the school policy planning by serving on the School Site Council (SSC).
