We are committed to the Community School approach: shared decision making, rigorous real world learning, resources to support the whole child and family, and extended learning opportunities so each child and family thrives and knows they belong. Check out our Implementation Plan.

Solidarity
We believe in ourselves and each other, and work together so students to reach their highest potential. Literacy and collaboration are embedded throughout the curriculum, with students strengthening and applying reading, writing, listening, and speaking to understand, communicate about, and make a difference in the world around them.

Joy
We strive to make learning and growing in community joyous. We come together in a variety of ways to create, move, and collaborate. Smiles and laughter may come from silly moments, moments of accomplishment, or from overcoming an obstacle.

Relationships
Relationships are at the heart of Jean Parker. Trust between staff members, teachers and students, and school and families is our highest priority and we build that through positive, two-way, and ongoing communication in a variety of ways. Many parents say Jean Parker is like one big family.

Self-Worth
We support each student to believe in themselves, both who they are and who they want to be. Through seeing our own value in the community, setting and achieving goals, and believing in ourselves we are each stronger members of the larger community. We are committed to seeing the value in others, finding commonalities and recognizing and learning from our differences.

Our small and mighty Community School serves students from the North Beach/ Russian Hill/ Chinatown area, as well as students who live throughout San Francisco. Convenient to many families' workplaces, Jean Parker is tucked just at the east end of the Broadway Tunnel. Our strength is our diversity, a reflection of the wonderful city that we call home.
We offer students and families a supportive community focused on positive social-emotional development, academic achievement, and providing a well rounded education through the arts, field trips, and community events. We are proud of the stability and experience of our teaching staff, many of whom are San Francisco natives committed to supporting the community in which they were raised.
