Marina Middle School is a high-performing public school located in the Marina District. Marina serves approximately 850 students in grades 6, 7 and 8 and strives to prepare every student for top high school and college achievement and beyond by providing each student with an equal opportunity to succeed by promoting intellectual growth, creativity, self-discipline, cultural and linguistic sensitivity, democratic responsibility, economic competence, and physical and mental health so that each student can achieve his or her maximum potential.
Teachers hold students to rigorous academic standards in a safe learning environment. Academic programs include GATE/Honors, General, English Learner, and Special Education. In addition to an exemplary Physical Education program, Marina offers classes in Band, Orchestra, Computer Arts, Art, Drama, Introductory Spanish, Introductory Mandarin, Guitar, and Journalism. Marina has two full computer labs in addition to iPad carts that are used to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in the classrooms.
Marina is pleased to partner with the Presidio YMCA in providing an After School Program. We welcome parent involvement, maintain strong communication with families, and offer many opportunities for parents to become a part of the school community.
