Register at the Assigned School

Steps 1-3

 

Step 1 - Receive Your School Offer Letter

All offers will be mailed to the applicant’s home address that they list on their application. If you do not receive your offer letter by March 22, 2019, please visit the Educational Placement Center (EPC) at 555 Franklin Street. Due to identity security, we cannot provide the school offer information over the phone or email. You must visit the EPC in person and provide a photo ID and one proof of address to receive a copy of your offer letter.

Step 2 - Register at Your Assigned School by April 5th

Register at your assigned school by April 5th to accept your offer and become enrolled as a student for next year.  Students who do not register by April 5th will not be enrolled for next year.

What to bring when you register:

If your child currently attends a San Francisco Unified School District school:
Please go to your assigned school between March 18, 2019 and March 22, 2019 or between April 1, 2019 and April 5, 2019 and bring your offer letter, a copy of your application (if available), and parent/guardian’s picture ID.

If your child does not currently attend a San Francisco Unified School District school:
Please go to your assigned school between March 18, 2019 and March 22, 2019 or between April 1, 2019 and April 5, 2019 and bring your offer letter, a copy of your application form (if available), parent/guardian’s picture ID, and  proof of your child’s birth (birth certificate or hospital record).

Step 3 - If You Want to Apply for a Different School

Families who prefer a different school than the one they were offered may submit the May Placement Application Form to participate in the  May Placement Period. The deadline for this application is April 5, 2019, and new offer letters will be mailed May 17, 2019. Families who receive a new offer will be immediately dropped from their previously registered school. Learn more about the May Placement Period here.

Immunizations

Students new to SFUSD must bring their current immunization records to their assigned school when registering. Preschoolers must have a complete physical exam within 12 months prior to entering preschool.  Kindergartners must have a complete physical examination within 6 months prior to entering school. First graders must have a physical examination within 18 months prior to entering school. Learn more about Health Requirements here.
