Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Academic Middle School enrolls students from neighborhoods throughout San Francisco. The diverse and multicultural atmosphere of the school attracts students from all racial/ethnic groups. All students receive equitable access. We focus on a curriculum that is meaningful and relevant, valuing relationships between staff and students, students and their peers, and the student-community. We are a Community School, with a focus on Project Based Learning (PBL) and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math (STEAM).
MLK embraces the whole child, where students, families, and staff receive the support they need to engage in rigorous and relevant learning. We commit to creating a caring and collaborative community, with a focus on a sense of belonging that values and promotes agency of youth voice.

A Williams Complaint allows a student, family, teacher, or any member of the public, to file
- Insufficient textbooks and instructional materials;
- Teacher vacancy or mis-assignment; and
- Facility conditions.
