At Claire Lilienthal we continue to have the goal of art everyday in the classroom. This may be seen in many ways, including singing songs from Mexican California, learning the ABCDE’s of Scientific Drawing, or creating artifacts, posters, and presentations in a PBL unit.
We, also, believe strongly in artists in residence programs where the students are taught by an artist for 12 weeks with a culminating presentation for the community.
We want our community of families and neighbors to feel involved in their children’s education and so we open up the school several times a year to celebrate art. We have Art Night: Gallery Walk and Poetry Recital, Musical Theater Night, May Dance, Project Based Learning Presentations, and several Korean Culture Celebrations.
