Jefferson ES Let's Buy Gift Cards!

Jefferson Elementary is enrolled in a gift card fundraising program. You can help earn money for the school by buying gift cards, which you can then use to make everyday purchases of things like food, gas, clothing, gifts, or household items. You can use gift cards just as you would use credit or cash, to pay for purchases online or in a store. You can give gift cards as gifts. You can use them yourself. Your friends and family members can buy them using the order form (here). Jefferson earns a percentage of each gift card purchased through this program, at no extra cost to you.

You can see exactly what percentage Jefferson earns on each type of gift card on the order form.  A bunch of stores give Jefferson more than 10% of the gift card price! Amazon gives Jefferson 2.5% of the gift card price, but when you add in the percentage it pays Jefferson when you access Amazon through Jefferson's Amazon page, where you can then pay with your Amazon gift card, Jefferson earns a double-whammy bonus when you buy Amazon gift cards!

In fact, many of the gift cards available are for merchants whose online stores are listed with GoodShop. When you access those online stores through Jefferson's GoodShop page, and you pay with your gift cards, you will earn Jefferson the double-whammy bonus!  Here are the top earners:

• Brooks Brothers earns Jefferson 19.5% (16% from gift card plus 3.5% through GoodShop)
• Lands' End earns Jefferson 19% (16% from gift card plus 3% through GoodShop)
• Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic earn Jefferson 16% (13.5% from gift card plus 2.5% through GoodShop)
• Payless Shoes earns Jefferson 15.5% (13% from gift card plus 2.5% through GoodShop)
• J. Crew earns Jefferson 14.5% (13% from gift card plus 1.5% through GoodShop)
• See's Candies earns Jefferson 14.5% (9% from gift card plus 5.5% through GoodShop)
• Omaha Steaks earns Jefferson 14.5% (11% from gift card plus 3.5% through GoodShop)
• Gymboree earns Jefferson 14% (13% from gift card plus 1% through GoodShop)
• The Children's Place and Bloomingdale's earn Jefferson 13.5% (12% from gift card plus 1.5% through GoodShop)
• Bloomingdale's earns Jefferson 13.5% (9% from gift card plus 4% through GoodShop)
• L.L. Bean earns Jefferson 13% (11% from gift card plus 2% through GoodShop)
• Groupon earns Jefferson 12% (7% from gift card plus 5% through GoodShop)

The face value of these gift cards is exactly what you pay for them - there is no extra cost to you above what the gift cards are worth. These gift cards never lose value (apart from when you choose to spend them on purchases).  They do not depreciate with age.

Please check the order form for the gift cards you would like to order, complete the form, and return it along with your payment (checks should be made payable to Jefferson PTA) to your child's teacher or to the Main Office by Friday, December 1. Your gift cards will be in your hands by Friday, December 8.

If you have even the remotest thought of ever buying anything at any of the stores for which gift cards are available, please buy some gift cards.  It's a no brainer.
