Overview
  • Jefferson Elementary is a large school with a small school feel. Jefferson's unique location allows for dynamic partnerships with the greater community and the enhancement of educational opportunities for both students and teachers. The teachers and staff at Jefferson are curious learners who are passionate about delivering meaningful and authentic learning. Students come to Jefferson with a range of talents and interests that are enhanced by the numerous educational programs and Jefferson traditions. The Arts and Sciences are key strengths that directly impact student success, as well as peer mentoring and buddy programs. With a diverse student population, Jefferson takes a holistic approach and continuously focuses on differentiating instruction that meets the needs of each student. Students leave Jefferson as well-rounded citizens with skills to visualize and create a future of success for themselves and their community.

    We have many after school programs both onsite and off-site in our neighborhood that families can select from based on their interests and schedule needs. YMCA (onsite until 6pm) OST (onsite until 6pm) Wah Mei School (offsite with pick-up) SF Botanical Garden (offsite with pick-up) Additional neighborhood enrichment programs that partner with our school to host programs onsite or offsite include Kidstock, Chess, Soccer, Engineering, Game Parlour, and more.

    School Accountability Report Cards (SARCs) are required by state law and are intended to provide families with important information.

  • School Accountability Highlights

    Published annually by SFUSD to provide access to key data points and three-year trends related to student achievement and school culture-climate. The highlights are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Filipino, and Vietnamese.

  • Social-Emotional and Culture Climate Report

    SFUSD annually surveys families and school staff on a range of school climate indicators that have been found to predict positive student academic achievement. The social-emotional learning of students in grades 4-12 is also assessed.

  • School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)

    School communities gather twice a year to review data and previous actions in order to intentionally plan for the coming months. The School Plan for Student Achievement is the template on which this review and stakeholder engagement process is codified.
